Madi and Alex's spring engagement session was exactly that.
We began the evening at Lilac Hill in Louisville, Nebraska, surrounded by blooming spring landscapes, winding pathways, and the kind of scenery that makes spring in Nebraska feel especially beautiful. The peaceful setting provided the perfect backdrop for documenting this exciting season as they prepared for marriage. Lilac Hill's rolling countryside and picturesque grounds created a timeless, romantic atmosphere throughout their session.
As the evening continued, we headed to the river just in time for sunset. The golden light reflecting across the water, combined with the excitement of knowing their wedding day was just around the corner, made for some of my favorite moments from the session. There is something special about engagement sessions that happen so close to a wedding day—the anticipation, excitement, and joy are written all over a couple's faces.
One of my favorite things about engagement photography is having the opportunity to slow down and focus entirely on a couple's relationship. Wedding days move quickly, but engagement sessions allow space for laughter, conversation, and the quiet moments that tell the story of who they are together.
Madi and Alex were effortless in front of the camera. Their connection, genuine affection for one another, and excitement about their future made this session such a joy to photograph.
And now, their wedding day is finally here.
