There are few things more meaningful than being invited back to document a family's story as it continues to grow.


I first met Holly and Conrad during their engagement session, then had the privilege of photographing their wedding day. Years later, I photographed their maternity session as they eagerly anticipated becoming parents.


Now, I had the honor of documenting one of the most exciting chapters yet—the arrival of their first baby.

For their newborn session, Holly and Conrad chose an in-home session, which added an extra layer of meaning to their images. There is something incredibly special about photographing a family in the very home where they are beginning this new chapter together.


Their baby's nursery, the bedroom where they spent countless hours preparing for his arrival, and the spaces where they are creating their first memories as a family all became part of their story. Even their dogs joined in, making the session feel even more personal and representative of this season of life.


One of the things I love most about in-home newborn photography is that it preserves more than just what your baby looked like during those first days. It preserves the environment where your family began. Years from now, these photographs will remind them not only of how tiny their son was, but also of the home where they brought him home for the very first time.


While studio newborn sessions offer a timeless and carefully curated experience, in-home newborn sessions provide a level of personalization that simply cannot be recreated anywhere else. The nursery you thoughtfully designed, the family pets who welcomed a new sibling, the favorite chair used for late-night feedings, and the rooms where your family's story is unfolding all become part of the memories being preserved.


Watching Holly and Conrad grow from an engaged couple into husband and wife, and now into parents, has been such a joy. It is one of the greatest honors of my job to document these milestones and create photographs that tell the story of a family's journey through every season of life.
